Thoughts of the Day 4/12/26

Morning

1 Corinthians 15:1-2 (KJB) Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

Many times we forget things, simply because they really weren’t that important enough to remember, but out of all the things that we have learned over the years, we never want to forget the teachings of Holy Scripture. All of the knowledge contained in this world will eventually fade away, but the wisdom of God abideth forever, because they are teachings that guide us on the path toward eternal life, and the everlasting Kingdom to come.

Evening

2 Corinthians 5:17-19 (KJB) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Jesus died on the cross so that we could be reconciled unto God. He grants sinners an incredible opportunity to be forgiven of all their past sins, so they can begin a brand new life of faith towards Him. A lot of people have done many wicked things during their lives, but if they could only be given the opportunity, they would go back to the beginning and start life all over once again. But this is exactly what the Lord Jesus has done for each one of us, and it all begins when you have the faith to be baptized by submersion into the name of Christ Jesus. When this is done, all of your past sins are washed away.

But these are only the first baby steps on the path to our own salvation. Reconciliation is not a one time event that happens when we are baptized, but it is a process, whereby we are transformed through faith into obedient and faithful children of God. In order to have a sincere relationship with the Lord will require renouncing and departing from iniquity, and completely rejecting the old person that we once were, in order to walk in His light. So be reconciled to God, through repentance and submission to His will, and never forget to thank God for His incredible gift!
