The Saints will Judge

Good morning and welcome in everybody.  Today, we are going to take a look at a passage of scripture, but before we do that, I wanted to ask you a little question.

If you had a problem with your car, where would you go for assistance? Would you take it to a painter? If you had a problem with your roof, would you contact a veterinarian? Most people have enough common sense in the world to take their issues to those people who will be able to take care of the problem at hand.

This reminds me of the Christian Life.

Anyone who claims to be a Christian doesn’t go to an unbelieving world for justice, they take it to Christ Jesus and to the Saints.

1 Corinthians 6 ¹ Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? ² Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? ³ Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? ⁴ If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. ⁵ I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren? ⁶ But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. ⁷ Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? ⁸ Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.

It’s clear In this passage that those who profess to be Christian are forbidden from going to law enforcement or to Earthly courtrooms for justice. There is so much corruption in the world today, why would you take the matter before the unjust? There are many people who are complete unbelievers who wield places of authority in this world. This has gone on for thousands of years, from wicked Kings, to corrupt politicians, who reap the riches of their iniquity, and hate the poor.

“As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.” Proverbs 28:15.

“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” Proverbs 29:2

Unbelievers don’t have any fear of God, and are unconcerned about keeping within the boundaries of conscience. They live whatever they want to, even if they’re sitting on a bench. Unbelievers don’t consider the repercussions that will come from God for what they do, so why should they care about you at all? There have been enough books written about all of the corruption that goes on in the world in these high places of authority. Herod had John the Baptist beheaded. Pilate had Jesus crucified. Why would you go to the unjust for judgment? You cannot expect Justice from somebody who has no fear of God, which is why a Christian must go to the Saints. Their judgments are guided by the Holy Spirit and the eternal teachings of Holy scripture, while earthly decisions are made according to temporal law. Just remember that all of their law books will be burned up at judgment day, but God’s Word liveth and abideth forever. The only thing that will matter then, is faith and obedience to the will of Christ Jesus. Jesus warned about an unjust judge, who wouldn’t do Justice until he was forced to.

Luke 18 ¹ And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; ² Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: ³ And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. ⁴ And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; ⁵ Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. ⁶ And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. ⁷ And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? ⁸ I tell you that he will avenge them speedily….

Even when the Apostle Peter was kept wronglyfully in prison, rather than going to law, prayer was made unto God without ceasing, and God delivered Him. When we have to suffer because others have defrauded us, God will quickly take care of the matter.

“That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.” 1 Thessalonians 4:6

Hebrews 10 ³⁰ For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. ³¹ It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

The Saints, who have faithfully served Christ Jesus are going to judge the world. They will judge Kings and other high places of temporal authority. This right will be granted unto them by the highest authority of all, the King of Kings and Lord of lords, our precious Savior Jesus Christ.

Jude 1 ¹⁴ And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, ¹⁵ To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

Matthew 19 ²⁸ And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. ²⁹ And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. ³⁰ But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.

Some men might forsake their homes and move to a different part of the country for a woman. Others might walk away from their entire family just to get a better paying job. But in order to reap this hundredfold blessing, the things that are mentioned in this passage need to be done out of a love for the Lord Jesus, and to draw closer to Him. Serving Him becomes more important in your life than any other relationship or possessions. When these things are done for the sake of Jesus Christ and the furtherance of the Gospel, His blessings are on the way.

Remember that God is not mocked, and whatever you sow, is what you will reap back. No one will be able to escape His justice, and every evil deed shall reap its just reward. Eternal justice resides in the house of God!

“For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?”  1 Peter 4:17

The church is a Divine courtroom, and if anyone takes issue with another, it needs to be brought before those who are Spiritual. Why would you take matters before the unjust rather than the church? Don’t you realize that at judgment day,……
