Thoughts of the Day 2/3/26

Morning

1 Peter 3:1-2 (KJB) Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.

A woman who claims to be a follower of Christ must be in complete subjection to her husband. After all, he is the authority figure in the home, and the wife and the children must fall in line and submit to his every command. A Christian wife is a role model of obedience to the children, because they will watch her as she completely submits to her husband. He might be a complete unbeliever who is still living the wild life and abiding in his sins, but she must never depart him because God has placed her in that home for a reason. Through her humble obedience to his every wish and command, she can actually win him to the Christian faith. She is not to preach or teach him, she is not to rebuke and correct him, her role is to obey him in everything, which is the proof of her love towards him. Many husbands can be pretty rough and gruff around the edges, but they have a heart too. They can see the love of Christ when a wife patiently suffers through his own shortcomings but continues to remain faithfully by his side through thick and thin. After all, that is the way that Jesus treated each of us as unbelievers. A wife needs to be meek and quiet, and focus her heart on complete obedience to her man. Many women truly desire to be the perfect wife and it shall happen through their patient obedience to the will of God. When she obeys her husband, she obeys Christ Jesus, and because of it, I know that God is going to pour out a blessing upon her soul.

Evening

1 Timothy 1:12-14 (KJB) And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

The Apostle Paul wrote much of the New Testament that we have today, but before he became a Christian, he was a Jewish Pharisee who persecuted the followers of Christ Jesus. During that period of his life he was a complete unbeliever, and did many things that were contrary to the will of God. But when He believed in Jesus and was converted to the Christian faith, he obtained Mercy from God, and all of the things that he had done in his past were forgiven. From that point on, he brought forth the fruits of repentance by planting new churches and educating others in the one true faith. Without a doubt, the life of the Apostle Paul is an example to each one of us of what genuine repentance is all about.
