Thoughts of the Day 3/4/26

Morning

Matthew 18:6 (KJB) But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

First of all, to “offend” means to transgress or to sin, and to offend a little one who believes in Jesus is to sin directly against them, or to lead them into sin. Some young children have been raised in very conservative Christian beliefs, but someone can intervene in their life and try to lead them away from the things that were established deep in their conscience. Leading a child away from the will of God is extremely wicked because it is the work of the devil. After all, this is exactly what he did to Eve in the Garden of Eden. Those who do such things are completely worthless in the sight of God, and they might as well be cast into the depths of the sea, but even that will not prevent the final judgment that awaits them all.

Evening

Luke 9:62 (KJB) And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

For thousands of years God has called out to men to preach and teach His Holy Word. It is a massive responsibility, one that is unlike any other in this world. This is because while some people report to Earthly employers, a man of God is laboring for Christ Jesus the Lord. But when you pick somebody to do a job, sometimes they won’t show up for work anymore. That is not only irresponsible, it is careless and cruel to do to an employer who placed a certain amount of trust in you that you would fulfill your duties. Sometimes people are chosen to high places of authority in this world, but they are nothing in comparison to becoming a servant of Christ Jesus. What king in this world would turn away from his responsibilities? What president would walk off on their obligation to their nation? Being chosen to preach God’s Word is a far greater task, and those who abandon their duties to God only prove that they were unworthy of salvation, and completely unfit for the kingdom of Heaven.
