Thoughts of the Day 6/2/26

Morning

Galatians 6:1-2 (KJB) Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

When someone is overtaken in a fault, they are completely consumed with grief and extreme sorrow for something that they have done wrong. For example, when the Apostle Peter denied Christ Jesus three times, he wept bitterly for what he had done. To restore somebody is to bring them back into the relationship that you once had with them in the past. This is what happened in this parable of the Prodigal Son, when he was reconciled once again unto his dad. It doesn’t feel good when people sin against you, but the Lord has given men the power to forgive others. But before forgiveness and restoration can take place, there must first be contrition and Godly sorrow in one’s life, because just as the scriptures teach,….the sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Evening

Romans 12:2 (KJB) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Many manufacturing plants will produce large quantities of one specific product, and when they roll off the assembly line, they all look exactly alike. For example, when you open up a box of stick matches, all of them are identical, showing perfect conformity. People can also conform to each other in this world, which means that they will readjust their manner of living so that they fit in with everybody else, but a faithful Christian is not like everybody else. Rather than following social norms, a Christian is supposed to be a follower of Christ Jesus, and come out from the world and be separate. We are not supposed to model ourselves after the way the world lives, but rather after the teachings of Scripture, becoming a completely different creature, with an entirely different purpose.
