Morning
Mark 8:38 (KJB) Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
Have you ever known a student in high school that everybody kept away from at the lunch table? Nobody wanted to sit next to him, because his fellow classmates were embarrassed to be around him. Many times people didn’t want to be associated with the Lord Jesus, and chose to stand on the side of the religious leaders of His day instead. But our precious Lord is the creator of all things, and it is a miracle in itself that He actually came to this earth to save a bunch of wretched sinners like us all. But when a man is ashamed of Christ Jesus and His teachings, they will be reluctant to speak openly about Him. We are called to speak the truth with our neighbor, and obviously that means that men must share the teachings of scripture with them. Many times a lot of people really don’t want to hear it, and that’s their choice, but we must give them the opportunity to repent of their sins, so they can be saved from an everlasting lake of fire. Would you run into a burning house to save your own child? Do you care enough about others to tell them the truth so they can avoid the wrath of God that is coming in the future? Divine charity for a neighbor dictates that we tell them the truth, so they can recover themselves out of the snare of the devil. To be ashamed of Jesus and His teachings, is to be ashamed of our creator, and those who don’t love Christ Jesus enough to stand on His side, will only find themselves turned away from Him at the judgment.

Evening
Mark 8:1-3 (KJB) In those days the multitude being very great, and having nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples unto him, and saith unto them, I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat: And if I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will faint by the way: for divers of them came from far.
This is an incredible example of people who were filled up with hearts that were diligently seeking Jesus. They wanted to be with Him so much, that it didn’t even matter if they had food to eat. Nowadays, throughout much of false christianity, people will attend a church group somewhere and hear a fifteen minute lesson, and then can’t wait to get out of there and run to the nearest restaurant. Technically, they are fulfillment of scripture, because their God is their gut!
