Hebrews 3:12-13 (KJB) Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
Some people who at one time of their life were brothers in the church, will eventually end up departing from the living God. Once saved always saved is a lie that is taught throughout massive forms of false Christianity, and propagated by false prophets and heretics. Sinful living can have devastating effects on the Christian life, because it can harden ones heart from submitting to the will of God. This is why the disciples of Christ warned the church every single day to keep themselves in the love of God, and not allow themselves to be led astray by the deceitfulness of sin.

Hebrews 4:1-2 (KJB) Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
Many people are going to claim that they truly believe in Jesus, but faith is much more than professing something with your lips. When people refuse to acknowledge and submit themselves to the will of God which is found throughout the teachings of His Holy Word, that’s not faith, it is called unbelief. People might be filled with the knowledge of Scripture, but knowledge by itself cannot save anyone. For example, you might know how to use a fire extinguisher, but if you never bother to pick it up and use it during an emergency, then what was the point of having the knowledge in the first place? Judas was an Apostle of Christ, and filled up with Spiritual knowledge, but look at what happened to him. The Apostle James taught the church to become doers of the Word, not hearers only. Unbelief is manifested in the refusal to humbly submit to the teachings of Scripture and without faith it is impossible to please God, because without it, people will refuse to repent of the works of darkness and walk in the light of God’s Truth. If the faith that someone professes never manifests itself in a heartfelt change and transformation to the will of God, even though they were baptized at one time in their life, they will be cast away from the presence of God forever. Today is the day of salvation so repent or perish and turn away from your sins, so that iniquity shall not be your ruin.
