Thoughts of the Day 10/12/26 am
2 Corinthians 3:15-17 (KJB) But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
There are many people who are still in bondage to the things of the Old Testament, but through faith in Christ Jesus, we are freed from all of the restrictions and demands that were required in it. It’s clear that nobody kept the law, so in order for any of us to be saved, our precious Lord fulfilled it Himself, and then died on the cross for our sins. At this moment, He instituted a brand new covenant, setting us free from the obligation to the old, in order to serve Him in the new. Imagine taking all the laws in the world and tossing them into the dumpster so that we could learn to serve one another in love, but this is essentially what Jesus has done for us all. The Apostle Paul was once a Jewish Pharisee, but when He finally believed in Christ Jesus, he was set freed from the law, and as he so clearly stated, where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Thoughts of the day 10/12/26 pm
2 Corinthians 5:18-20 (KJB) And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
All of us have sinned at one time or the other, and because of this, it causes a separation and broken relationship with God. Reconciliation is the process of being restored to a friendly relationship with Him. God doesn’t want people to perish, He wants them to repent of their sins, and humbly accept the wrongs that they have committed. Jesus laid down His own life for us on the cross as an atonement for our sins, and in order to be reconciled to God, you must humbly confess your faults, and receive God’s mercy in Christ. Jesus has already paid the debt for our sins, and to be in a restored relationship with God is going to require repentance from dead works, confessing the error of your way, and washing them away through the precious sacrifice of Christ in Holy Communion. When this happens, God cleanses us completely of our past misdeeds and forgets the wrongs that were committed, so that we can be in a close and loving relationship with Him once again. Confession, repentance, and partaking of Holy Communion are doctrines that must be kept in order to be fully restored unto God.
