Good morning and welcome in everybody. Today, we are going to take a look at a passage of scripture, but before we do that, I wanted to tell you a little story.
Have you ever had a parent who loved you enough to rebuke you when you were doing the wrong thing? Many times this is done because they care about your soul, and want to correct you from the error of your way. We live in a day and age where people really believe that if they hug their child enough, it’s going to be enough to bring them to a place of repentance, but that is a lie. This is why a lot of children grow into adults and end up in correctional facilities because nobody corrected them in their own home. People need to be told what they are doing is wrong because only then can they correct themself and get back onto the narrow path of Christ.
On the other hand, some people will not listen to corrections or rebukes at all. Sometimes they don’t want to be told that what they are doing is wrong which is the scenario that is going on in massive forms of false Christianity today. These people become so arrogant, that rather than accepting the will of God, they simply move on to another church instead. In their hearts they are really no different than the religious people that Jesus fiercely rebuked in the Gospels, but the only difference is that they are sitting in modern day churches. Instead of being humble enough to open up their ears to the doctrines and teachings of our faith, they have decided to turn a deaf ear.
2 Timothy 4:2-4 (KJB) Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Some people will begin the Christian life, get baptized and even have Holy Communion, but for many different reasons, they will completely turn away from the doctrines of our faith. Many times this happens because of certain sinful lusts in their life that they simply don’t want to deny. At that point, the love for the things of this world become stronger than a love for Christ Jesus and His teachings.
Mark 4:16-19 (KJB) And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended. And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
There is only one true faith, and it is found throughout the teachings of the King James Bible, but although some people have been educated in the will of God, some of them will turn away from many of its precepts because the love for the world or other activities will become stronger then obedience to the will of Christ. At that point they will begin to justify their own wickedness and rebellion rather than submitting to God’s will. For this group of people, the snares of sin are going to steal their souls, and they will be damned because of it.
As I have said for 25 years, once saved, always saved is a complete farce just like the people who preach it. They are liars and if I said otherwise I would be a liar like unto them. They would have been better off going into politics because all they are doing is digging their own grave. Some people are going to shipwreck their faith by turning their ears away from the will of God, and doing their own thing instead. Most of the New Testament is filled with constant warnings about doing this very thing. Some people really believe that they are on their way to heaven, but they never really did the will of God from their heart. Perhaps they followed 75% of it, but 25% was just too difficult for them to complete. It’s kind of like somebody who attempts to climb a mountain, gets three quarters of the way to the top and then turns around. But rather than accept the truth that they didn’t make it all the way there, they want others to reassure them that they really did! What utter foolishness, but that’s what people do when they still claim to be a Christian, but have turned their ears away from the Truth of Scripture. Rather than enduring and putting into practice the things that they have been taught, it becomes too difficult for them to complete. Rather than opening their ears to biblical rebukes and correction, they will harden their neck and join up with a false Christian Church instead, led by somebody who guarantees that they are going to be in heaven regardless. But know this, without repentance and acceptance of biblical truth, the soul will believe a lie and in the process, they will forfeit their soul.
Proverbs 29:1 (KJB) He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
I have always taught my family that if you commit a sin, repent of it immediately and be humble enough to confess that you were wrong. But there is one thing that you can never do, and that is to become so arrogant that you completely reject the council of biblical Truth. So you see, some people in a church somewhere will sin against others, but become so filled up with the pride of the devil that instead of confessing their faults to those whom they have wronged, they will simply pick up stakes and join up with some false church somewhere else. They might even have communion there, but they drink it unto damnation. Be forewarned that God is not mocked, because without repentance, the one who loved them enough to shed His own blood on the cross for them, will eventually cast their souls into an everlasting lake of fire, so fear God and live.
Matthew 7:21-23 (KJB) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
When the desires for this world overwhelm a person, and they will turn away from the teachings of scripture rather than repent, and many times they will try to find anybody that they can to assure them that what they are doing is acceptable. Why do you think so many of these false Christian churches are packed with people? In many cases it’s because they are telling them whatever they want to hear. When you tell people the truth in a large gathering, you might have people get up and walk off and never come back again. One time I was preaching in a mall and there was about a hundred people seated in front of me. But as soon as I started touching on certain biblical issues, 2/3 of them got up and left. I guess in 25 years I’ve gotten pretty used to that. In fact, many people who followed Christ Jesus eventually left him because they said who can hear these sayings? So it has nothing to do with the amount of people in a church that pleases God, it has to everything to do with those who are repentant and obedient to God’s will. Those who decide to close their ears from the truth are going to believe a lie. They will believe it so strongly that you cannot tell them any differently, but it is all God’s doing.
2 Thessalonians 2:10-12 (KJB) And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
When people reject the Truth of scripture, there is nothing else available to them but to believe a lie, and you can know for certain that God is going to punish everybody, who is……
