Thoughts of the Day 6/9/26

Morning

Hebrews 6:1 (KJB) Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works……

The more time that you devote to something, the better you are going to get at it. For example, when someone first becomes a mechanic, it may take them many hours to fix something, but forty years later, the same repair only takes them a few minutes. Whatever it is in your life, in order to become good at it requires an investment of your time. To earn a gold medal at the Olympics requires practice! To receive a special reward for an outstanding piano recital requires practice! Practice makes perfect, and such is the Christian Life.

There is no greater goal that you can strive after in your life, than the Spiritual and moral perfection of one’s own heart. Each day of our lives, we must diligently strive to perfect ourselves from any faults or flaws, until the only thing remaining is a purified and perfect heart, one that is without blemish in the sight of God. God is going to reward those who do this, because when you hunger and thirst after righteousness, you are going to be filled!

Evening

Proverbs 24:16 (KJB) For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

How many of you can remember the first time that you tried riding a bicycle? I know that when I was learning, I fell down quite a few times before I eventually figured out how to do it. Jesus taught the Apostle Peter to be very forgiving with a brother, and when they confess faults and say I repent, you need to forgive them. For some of us, it takes longer to learn our lesson than others, but repentance from a sincere heart is the key. A just man might fall down many times in His walk with the Lord, but he will get back up and try it again. He will do this as many times as it takes until he finally gets it right, and no longer needs to repent of it any longer. Praise God for His patience!
