Thoughts of the Day 6/25/26

Morning

2 Corinthians 7:1 (KJB) Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

How many of you spend a certain amount of time cleaning the interior of your vehicle? Many times people will start by filling up a small garbage bag with larger items, until they eventually begin vacuuming up all of the dirt from off of the floor, along with the rest of the undesirables. But this is exactly what we need to do in each of our daily lives. God wants us to vacuum our hearts, and remove everything from within it, until it becomes purified. This is a process known as sanctification, whereby we must put forth our diligent efforts to remove everything that is unwanted by God, until all that remains, is a perfectly clean heart before Him.

Evening

2 Corinthians 8:9 (KJB) For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

Jesus taught that the laborers are few, and the reason why is because they are doing all types of other things instead. Many hours of their weeks are poured into obtaining wealth, riches, or chasing after all of the other temporal things on the Earth, but the disciples had chosen to become poor, in order to devote their time to a higher calling and purpose. Many men have said that a preacher needs to go out and get a job just like everybody else, but the truth is that they don’t love the Lord Jesus enough to leave their job and get out there and preach. Their love is money, not the things of God. You can either spend 40 hours reaping an Earthly paycheck, or spend 40 hours involved in ministry work, which will reap everlasting rewards. Souls cannot be harvested for God if people are going to spend their day focused on the cares and concerns of this world instead. Just like Moses walked away from all the treasures of Egypt, men who completely devote their lives and their time selflessly to preaching God’s Word, are going to be rewarded greatly by God, both here on the Earth, and in the Kingdom of Heaven.
