Thoughts of the Day 7/17/26

Thoughts of the Day 7/17/26 am

2 Thessalonians 3:14 (KJB) And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.

The Apostle Paul was very sincere about his faith and beliefs in the teachings of Holy Scripture. He was in a place of authority over the church, and he knew in his heart that obedience to the will of God was required of all those who desired to obtain everlasting glory. Throughout the New Testament, he gave commands to the church, but sometimes people resisted his authority that had been granted unto him by Christ Jesus. Even when there was fornication going on in the Corinthian Church, the members were commanded to keep separate from those who were committing such wicked deeds. Shunning people is done for the purpose of correction, and bringing people to a place of contrition and repentance, but if they abide in a state of willful rebellion and impenitence, their shame will carry on in the afterlife, when the goats are finally separated from the sheep, and cast away from a merciful God, forever. So repent quickly, before this everlasting judgement is pronounced upon you, and never cease to praise God for the opportunity to do so!

Thoughts of the Day 7/17/26 pm

1 Timothy 2:1-4 (KJB) I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Praying for the salvation of other men is a good thing to do in the sight of God, because He wants all men to be saved. But in order for that to happen, they will need to come to the knowledge of the Truth, and humbly submit themselves to the will of God. Pray for their conversion, and a repentant heart, so they will call upon the name of the Lord, and have all of their sins washed away through the incredible mercies of God.
