Thoughts of the day 7/21/26 am
Romans 8:1-2 (KJB) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
When people are baptized into the Christian faith, we are supposed to become completely transformed by mortifying all of the sinful deeds of the flesh, and humbly submitting ourselves to the will of God. The wages of sin is death, which is the reason why people must repent of them. A Christian is called to reject all of the works of the sinful nature, and become a brand new creature in Christ Jesus, bringing forth good works unto God, and filled up with the fruits of goodness, righteousness and Truth.

1 Corinthians 1:26-29 (KJB) For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence.
God chooses people that the world considers foolish or unqualified. He picks people that a lot of employers would completely reject. Rather than choosing highly educated religious leaders of His day, Jesus picked a lowly group of fishermen, a tax collector and a thief to be His Apostles. He does this for the purpose of teaching the proud hearted, that they must humble themselves in the sight of God, and that they are a sinner who needs to repent, just like the rest of us.
