Thoughts of the Day 8/7/26 am
Ephesians 5:9-10 (KJB) (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
Before I received my lifesaving certification in high school, one of the last things that we had to do was tread water for an extremely long period of time! I can’t remember exactly how long that we were in that pool, but I do remember that it was grueling. In order to become a lifeguard, you needed to prove by your actions that you could do the things that were required of a lifeguard.
The Christian Life is no different, because in order to obtain eternal life, we must prove to the Lord Jesus that we are worthy of salvation, which happens through our humble submission to the teachings of the New Testament faith. It’s more than just professing to be a Christian with your mouth, it is proving by our actions that we truly are His loyal and obedient followers. Do you claim to be a Christian? Then you had better have the works to back that statement up, because you will have to prove it in order to graduate into eternal life, and this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Thoughts of the Day 8/7/26 pm
Hebrews 5:12-14 (KJB) For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
God extends to us His grace for the purpose of using it to learn to go and sin no more, but the Apostle rebuked the church because he expected them to be more mature in their faith than what they really were. Men are called to preach God’s Word, something that is absolutely forbidden to women, but rather than doing that, the men of the church needed to be corrected like a group of children, because they were acting like immature babies. When men grow into an adult, does their dad really need to come forth and constantly rebuke them like a child all over again? Does he really need to show you how to tie your shoes once again, after he already showed you in the past? But these are the exact same feelings of the Blessed Apostle, who spent so much time educating people, but now he had to come back and treat them like children all over again. Just like a child at school they were failing the progress report, because we must go forward rather than backward. Christianity is far more than the knowledge of God’s love towards us. It is learning to love God in return, which will ultimately require maturing in our faith and becoming faithful and obedient to God’s will and purpose for our lives. Learn it, live it, and never forget it, because this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
