Thoughts of the day 9/7/26 am
Romans 8:12-13 (KJB) Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
How many times have you woken up in the morning, but when you tried to get out of bed you realized that your leg was completely asleep and numb from all feeling? To mortify means to become dead, or to have no feeling anymore. When we begin the Christian Life, God grants us the incredible Gift of forgiveness, but we must repent from sinful behavior, and mortify all of the works of the flesh. We must have no desire or feeling to be involved with sinful living any longer, but awake to righteousness so we can walk in the light!

Thoughts of the Day 9/7/26 pm
Psalms 57:1-2 (KJB) Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.
Everyone who begins the Christian Life will enter into some type of persecution and suffering, which normally begins with your own blood relatives and family members, who will cast out your name as evil and spread all kinds of malicious lies about you. Think about all the suffering that Job had to endure, who had thousands of his livestock destroyed in a single day. His servants were killed by raiders and he lost all of his children. He suffered with boils and sores, and had to deal with many years of anguish. But after he endured all these sufferings, God rewarded him with twice the fortune that he had in the past, providing him with more children than what he had before. Just like the story of Joseph, God delivered him, but we must be patient in all of our sufferings until these calamities are overpassed. We must endure all of the wrongs committed against us, until the day when we are finally delivered by the mighty hand of God!
