1 Corinthians 9:13-14 (KJB) Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.

People put their money into things that matter most to them, and if you take a moment to look around in the world, you will see it every single day. They will put their wealth into their homes or a fancy car, or many times into a fishing boat with a huge motor mounted on the back. Many people will quickly admit that they worked hard and they deserve what they get, but yet at the same time they will condemn a preacher for receiving gifts or free will offering for the things that they do. It has never made sense to me to invest in things that are going to perish, like investing millions of dollars into snow that will only melt in the spring. Any investor who has any kind of financial wisdom is going to understand what I am talking about. Preaching is a job that might not pay off in the short run, but the investment is eternal. To condemn a preacher because of gifts, homes or other monetary rewards that they might have received during their life is to condemn oneself. Solomon served God and was the richest king in history, but the covetous get upset when others are financially blessed becauae of their service unto God. The creator of Heaven and Earth has ordained that a preacher can receive compensation for what they do, and those who reject that are rejecting the commandments of Christ. The love of money is the root of all evil, and if you cannot bless the work of God with all of the Earthly treasures that He has given you, then you are a cruel and heartless person. Love for God will give to the things of God, and those who cannot financially support these types of works, are people who will be quickly forgotten about in the future
