Thoughts of the Day 9/13/26

Thoughts of the Day 9/13/26 am

1 Corinthians 15:1-2 (KJB) Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

When you believe something it’s going to result in an action. For example, if you believe it’s going to rain, you will go out to the clothesline and bring in the laundry. To believe something in vain means that it really doesn’t produce any results and is ineffectual. Our salvation depends on remembering the things that we have heard from the teachings of Scripture, making sure not to be forgetful hearers, but doers of the work.

Thoughts of the Day 9/13/26 pm

James 2:20-24 (KJB) But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

Many people will claim that we are saved by faith alone, but the facts are that it is by our works that our faith is perfected. If you are ever going to become a good piano player, you will need to practice regularly in order to perfect your skills, and the more diligently that you work at it, the better a musician you will become. Likewise, we need to practice our faith, which happens when we are involved with works within the church. Consider Noah who had so much faith, that it produced a huge ark! You must remember that if he hadn’t involved himself in these works, he and his family would have all perished in the flood. Works of justification matter a great deal in the Christian Life, because they are the evidence that God is doing a work deep down inside of your heart.
