Thoughts of the Day 9/16/26

Thoughts of the Day 9/16/26 am

Romans 2:28-29 (KJB) For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

The Apostle Paul was once a Jewish Pharisee who had been circumcised according to the law of Moses. At that time of his life, he felt blameless according to the law, and even zealously persecuted the Christian church. But many times, people can do things very religiously because they are focused on moral traditions and receiving the praises of men. But after he believed on Christ Jesus, he realized that being a Jew entailed much more than being circumcised in the flesh, because it required a complete change of one’s heart. The Christian Life is an inward faith, led by the Spirit rather than the law, and the circumcision that matters now is the one of the heart, which is received through faith in our precious Lord Jesus.

Thoughts of the Day 9/16/26 pm

Colossians 1:9-10 (KJB) For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

The Apostle was constantly praying for the church to be filled up with the wisdom of God. After all, the more that we understand His will for us, the more pleasing that we can become to Him. But in order to have wisdom, you must first endeavor to find it, knowing that God will reward those who diligently seek after Him. If a wife really wants to please her husband, she must first have a good understanding of what he wants from her, so she can go on to become obedient to him in everything. If children desire to please their dad, they must learn about the things that make him happy, so they can become obedient to whatever he wants them to do. This is why it is so important to be educated in the teachings of Holy Scripture, because we are learning about the things that please the Heavenly Father. When we have a good understanding of the Word of God, we can become obedient to His will, and perfect our love towards Him, from a pure and obedient heart.
