Thoughts of the Day 9/17/26

Thoughts of the Day 9/17/26 am

Luke 10:2 (KJB) Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

Why is there such a lack of sincere men who are willing to devote their lives to the preaching of God’s Holy Word? For a great deal of men, other things will become far more important in their life than committing themselves to the service of God. There are only so many hours in the day, and many people will devote them to other areas in their life, rather than what is truly needed most of all, the preaching of the kingdom of God.

Thoughts of the Day 9/17/26 pm

Psalms 37:3-5 (KJB) Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

When people trust in the Lord, they are going to do things His way rather than their own. God wants to take us in a brand new direction, but to truly follow Him will entail trusting in Him enough, to become obedient to the teachings of Holy Scripture. Sometimes a dad might take his children out fishing, but if they really want to catch a bunch of them, they must trust him enough to bait their hooks in the same way that he does. So trusting the Lord has to do with humbly submitting yourself to His guidance rather than your own, and those who are capable of doing this will be highly compensated by Him. He will provide for all of your needs, and bring forth answers to your prayers. He will recompense your diligent heart, and grant you all the things that you desire. Don’t confuse this with the prosperity of the wicked, who follow the desires of their own heart rather than the Lord. God blessed Solomon with riches beyond compare, but it was because his heart wanted wisdom above anything else in this world. God rewards that kind of attitude, and will pour out His blessings upon all those who submit to His guidance and direction. Remember that when you humbly listen and do what He says, just like Peter, you will bring in so many fish that they are gonna break the nets!
