Thoughts of the Day 9/18/26 am
Psalms 111:1 (KJB) Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.
There are many things in this life that people can get involved with, but you can tell that their heart is really not in it. Take for example, a young student who takes piano lessons, not because they are excited to learn about the instrument, but because they are forced to be there by their parents. A husband might ask his wife to make a special meal for supper, and she will do it not out of love for him, but because she has to. The same is also true in a church setting. Some people will show up because it is a requirement to do so, rather than being there out of a fervent love for God. There is a huge difference between doing something that is motivated out of religious routine, or doing it because you truly love the Lord. So look into your own heart, and see if the worship that you are giving the Lord is truly an offering of your love and adoration towards Him, or simply a pattern of half-hearted religious habit.

Thoughts of the day 9/18/26 pm
Hebrews 4:12 (KJB) For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
I’ve done a lot of fishing during my life, and have sharpened quite a few fillet knives, and when you spend a little time on them, you can get the blade as sharp as a razor. Because of this there’s been quite a few times that I’ve cut my fingers while cleaning fish. But no matter how many times I’ve done that, or how deep the wound may be, I always remember that it can only penetrate the flesh. The Word of God is so sharp that it can pierce the soul, plunging deep into the hearts and consciences of men. It convinces us of the error of our way, and reminds us of the consequences for the way that we are going to live our lives. There are some weapons in this world that you never want to tangle with, such as the german mg42 machine gun, but they can only pierce the flesh. The two-edged sword of God’s Holy Word is the most serious and feared of all, because it’s words extend far beyond the flesh, and into the Spiritual and everlasting realm of God.
