Thoughts of the day 9/22/26

Thoughts of the day 9/22/26 am

1 Peter 4:1-2 (KJB) Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

Everybody who becomes a follower of Christ Jesus and begins walking the Christian Life is going to enter into some kind of suffering, and it can come from relatives, family members and other relationships that you have had in your past. Many of them are going to cast out your name as evil because you have chosen to come out of the darkness in order to walk in the light. When you finally make the decision to no longer take part in the evil things that they do, they will reproach you and persecute you, but when this happens, the glory of God resteth upon you. Rather than returning evil for evil and avenging ourselves, we suffer it, just as Jesus suffered when He was put on the cross by a sinful world. We must learn to turn the other cheek, and resist not evil, because in doing so you have proven that you have overcome sin, and are walking in the perfect will of God.

Thoughts of the Day 9/22/26 pm

2 Peter 3:13-14 (KJB) Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

When we believe the truth about what Jesus did for us on the cross, we can be baptized by submersion and receive complete remission for all of our past sins. But when we begin to follow Christ Jesus, the Apostles wanted the church to have an impeccable and spotless record in the sight of God, which is one of the reasons why it is such a high calling. We must live our lives in a manner that is unimpeachable, being filled up with such pure hearted sincerity, that no one can find fault with you, nor even accuse you of wrongdoing. For those who want to obtain eternal life in the future, you must move on to perfection, crucifying the old person that you once were in the past, and becoming obedient, loyal, and blameless in the sight of God.
