1 Peter 5:2 (KJB) Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
How many of you youngsters have a family pet such as a dog or a cat? When your dad asks you to fill up their water and food dish, do you quickly do what is requested of you? Many children love their dad, including each of their furry little critters, and they find it quite easy to feed them, simply because they care about them. This is also the same manner in which we need to preach God’s Holy Word, not for money, and not because we are forced to do it. It must be done out of a sincere love for the Lord Jesus Christ and the sheep of God, making sure to always keep them well fed, in the teachings and the doctrines of our faith.

Evening
Hebrews 12:16-17 (KJB) Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.
There is no turning back when you begin the Christian Life, because it is a narrow path that once you have begun, you must follow all the way to the end. Those who complete this race, are going to be rewarded with the prize of eternal inheritance. But scripture is clear that there will be some who simply will not last as a Christian, because rather than abiding in the high calling of God, they will abandon the requirements of their faith and their obligations to Christ Jesus. They might be very sad about what they did later on, but those who do this are no different than Esau. These are people who really didn’t care anything at all about their future inheritance, and because of this, will only find themselves completely rejected by God.
