Thoughts of the Day 5/27/26

Morning

Psalms 30:4-5 (KJB) Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

When people get involved with sin, it’s very grievous in the sight of God. After all, our precious Lord shed His own blood on the cross so that we could have the mercy available to overcome the sinful nature. But the Lord gets extremely upset at sin, and even in the temple He made a small scourge and whipped the people for what they were involved with. But the key to walking in His favor is found through sincere repentance from a humble and contrite heart. Our God is ready to forgive, but we must first confess our faults, and acknowledge that we have strayed outside of His will. God punishes sin, but His correction is for the purpose of bringing forth fruit that is meet for repentance. Although we occasionally need to endure chastening, it is for our benefit, so that each of us can grow up into faithful and obedient children, who are ready to please our precious Lord Jesus in everything that we do.

Evening

Psalms 108:13 (KJB) Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

An enemy is somebody who seeks to inflict harm upon you, hinder your progress, or opposes a specific cause. They are filled with malicious behavior and will try to injure or undermine others. The Apostles had to deal with these things everywhere that they went, being persecuted by people who wanted to prevent what they were doing. But as a follower of Christ Jesus, we don’t fight against an enemy with Earthly weapons, because the Lord will fight the battle for all of His elect Servants. Just as Pharaoh found out, Jesus can cast people’s lives into utter chaos, inflicting them with pain, suffering and agony. Vengeance belongs to the Lord so be patient in all of the sufferings that you endure, because the Lord is going to return evil upon their own heads, and will swiftly tread down all of our enemies.
