Thoughts of the Day 5/24/26

Morning

2 Timothy 1:10 (KJB) But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

Everyday, death happens all around us, from relatives to our neighbors, but the Lord Jesus taught about the resurrection of the Dead. The Lord has abolished death which means that every soul that has ever lived will be resurrected in order to stand before Him at judgment day. Everybody is going to live eternally after death on the Earth, but it is clear from scripture that they will be in one of two places. They will either be resurrected unto eternal life in paradise, or be resurrected to eternal punishment in a lake of fire. Death on the Earth is only the beginning of an entirely new eternal situation, and where you will be later all depends on repentance, and one’s faith and obedience towards the Lord Jesus Christ and the will of God.

Evening

John 15:4-7 (KJB) Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

To abide means to continue in a specific state, or to accept and submit to someone without objection. The New Testament is filled with commands and teachings from our precious Lord Jesus Christ, and to abide in Him is to submit and to obey His will. Obedience to the will of God is the proof that you are abiding in Him, and God will most certainly reward this behavior. Just like pleasing your own dad by doing the things that he requests, when we obey the will of God, the Heavenly Father is capable of fulfilling your every desire. So be obedient to God, and watch what happens in your life.
