Thoughts of the Day 6/4/26

Morning

Ephesians 3:17-19 (KJB) That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

All of us are sinners who have come short of the glory of God, but even when we were yet sinners, Jesus shed His own blood on the cross so that each of us could obtain forgiveness with God. This is God’s love manifested toward each of us, and it’s not that we loved Him, but that He loved us first. The Apostle wanted the church to be filled up with a good understanding of the love that Christ has towards us, so that we would be filled up with all of the fullness of God. When we place all of our faith in Christ Jesus, we can eventually mature in the will of God and learn how to love Him with all of our hearts, and our neighbors as ourselves.

Evening

Ephesians 4:7 (KJB) But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

Have you ever noticed that when people sit down at the supper table to eat, many of them will take different size portions? Sometimes a small child will just take a little bit of everything, but a grown man will completely fill up his plate. Others will even go back for seconds, or perhaps finish up the leftovers too! God’s grace is very similar, because each of us needs a different portion of His forgiveness. Some have only sinned a few times during their life, while others like the Apostle Paul did numerous things that he greatly regretted later. But although he referred to himself as the chief of sinners, God used him for great things in the church. His life is an example to every one of us how God can work through a person who receives the grace of God in Christ Jesus, and repents from dead works. It’s never too late to change, so rise up and wash away all of your sins, and be baptized in the Name of Christ Jesus our Lord!
