Morning
Psalms 51:17 (KJB) The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
In the Old Testament, many people would offer up animal sacrifices unto God, and even in today’s world, people sacrifice their time, and even their possessions to give to the work of Christ Jesus. But the sacrifices that God desires is a contrite and penitent heart, one that is seeking Him with brokenness and Godly sorrow. Above and beyond any gifts that you might bring to a church, God desires a humble and meek heart, one that is filled with sorrow for the grievous sins that one has committed. To possess that quality is much greater than any riches that you might offer to God, because through sincere contrition, you will be able to obtain the mercies of God and find favor in His sight.

Evening
Philippians 2:14-15 (KJB) Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
The greatest endeavor in the Christian Life is the perfection of the human heart, which happens through contrition, repentance and the fear of God. Each day we must chip away everything in our lives that are outside of the teachings of our faith, until all that remains is a sincere and tenderhearted man of God. The Lord wants us to become like a perfect and flawless diamond, transformed into examples of moral and spiritual excellence, until we become blameless in the sight of our precious Lord Jesus. Perfection is our duty, and our moral obligation unto God, and this is the high calling in Christ Jesus concerning us all, so just as God spoke to Abraham, let us endeavor to walk before Him, and be thou perfect!
