Hebrews 11:6 (KJB) But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
The entirety of the Christian Life is learning to please God, but in order to do that, requires faith in Him. When you possess genuine faith, you are going to have a great desire to become humbly obedient to the will of God. This is because you understand that He is going to plentifully reward you for that behavior.

Hebrews 13:17 (KJB) Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
When a man has preached to you the Word of God, and you have grown in your faith because of their work towards you, they have a certain amount of rule over you, according to matters of faith. For example, Timothy was under the tutelage of the Apostle Paul, and Joshua was under the tutelage of Moses. These are men who have instructed you in the teachings of our faith, and are over you in the Lord, and you must submit yourselves fully unto them because their desire for you is that you believe the teachings of our faith just as they do. They are under-shepherds of our great Shepherd Christ Jesus, and the Lord has placed them before you for a reason. When you resist a sincere man of God, you resist Christ’s servants, and those who resist them, also resist Jesus. Obey them, because they care enough about you to educate you in the teachings of scripture, so humble yourselves before them, and God shall lift you up!
