Thoughts of the day 7/14/26 am

Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJB) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

There are many people in this world who are trying to obtain eternal life by their own works, but the problem is that they have a sin issue with God that needs to be taken care of. Bringing forth good works is a requirement in the Christian Life, but unless you get forgiven with God by placing your faith in Christ Jesus, you will die in your sins. God wants to save us, but good works by themselves are not enough to get to heaven, because we must obtain forgiveness from God for all of the wrongs that we have committed against Him. As a baptized christian, It is by grace that we are saved, but it is through faith, and if you truly possess faith, you are going to depart from iniquity, turn away from dead works, and completely transform from a sinner into a saint. The truth is that if you are going to live like a wretched sinner, then you will be treated as such on the day of judgment, and it doesn’t matter if you claimed to be a Christian or not. Repentance towards God is the answer, and learning to walk in the light, rejecting all of the sinful works of the flesh, and becoming a new creature in Christ Jesus. Without God’s forgiveness in Christ Jesus, it doesn’t matter how many good works that you do, because it’s not by our works alone that we are saved, but by the grace of God.

Thoughts of the day 7/14/26 pm

1 Peter 3:1-2 (KJB) Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.

A woman is forbidden from preaching God’s word, but if she claims to be a Christian, and her husband is a complete unbeliever, she can win him over to the Christian faith by obeying him in whatever he tells her to do. As a follower of Christ, we prove our love towards Jesus by obeying everything He commands us, and likewise, wives must treat their husbands in the same manner. Sometimes women think that if they make a good meal for their husband that it’s going to please him, but if he didn’t ask for it, he might not have wanted it at all. Listen closely young ladies, do the things that he commands you to do, whatever those may be. He might not care about a messy house, but he is incredibly appreciative of you when you clean his guns for him. He might not care if the dishes are dirty, but when you cut the lawn, your praises are on his lips. He might not like you constantly jabbering, so you must learn to be quiet as a church mouse. He might not care about a clean basement, because he’d rather spend time with you fishing on the lake. I think every man is going to be a little bit different, because some things are far more important to us than others. If you don’t know what your husband wants, just ask and make a mental note or a list. Take your mind off all of the busy work that really doesn’t matter to him, and focus on what HE wants you to do. Do that, and watch what happens, and cease not to secretly pray for him, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
