Thoughts of the day 7/15/26 am
1 Peter 5:2-4 (KJB) Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
We have raised chickens for many years on our property, and I think there was one year that we were getting as many as six dozen eggs a day. But just like any other creature, they require food and water, and someone to put forth the effort to fill up their feeders. A preacher is feeding the sheep of God each day by filling them up with the teachings of God’s Holy Word. In order to grow up and become strong, they need to be fed on a regular basis, and men must rise up to this task out of a great love for the Lord Jesus. You can know for certain that those who take upon themselves this heavenly duty are going to be well rewarded by the Lord Jesus, as they tend to the needs of His flock, by taking care of the sheep of God.

Galatians 6:9-10 (KJB) And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
God is not exclusive to whom He does good to, because each day He causes the sun to shine upon both the good and the evil. A follower of Christ should have the same attitude, doing good works towards everybody, no matter if they are a believer or not. People might not do good works towards you, but in the end that is irrelevant, because it is God who will reward you for the good things that you do. So do good to one and all, especially other faithful believers, because you shall reap a Divine recompense for your obedience to the gospel of Christ.
