Thoughts of the day 8-6-26 am

John 14:6-9 (KJB) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

Over the years I’ve seen many young men who bear a striking physical resemblance to their dad. They will have the same colored eyes, the same hair style, and even their speech will sound the same way that he did when he spoke over the supper table. Although these are physical resemblances, the Lord Jesus Christ is a perfect Spiritual replica of His Heavenly Father, displaying all of the attributes of God. For example, He manifests His great concern for the salvation of souls, but also His extreme wrath by throwing over the tables in the temple. He healed the sick and infirmed, and at the same time fiercely rebuked all of the hypocrisy that was going on amongst the religious leaders. He is tender and meek in heart, but will cast the impenitent into an everlasting lake of fire. Everything that the Heavenly Father is, can be seen in the person of Christ Jesus, along with the other men of God, who are filled up with that one and selfsame Holy Spirit. There is one God and Father of all, and men who have truly become His children, are going to bear a striking resemblance to all of His Spiritual qualities. Praise God for His grace, so we could have an opportunity to become one of His faithful and obedient children.

Thoughts of the Day 8/6/26 pm

Ephesians 4:22-24 (KJB) That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Sometimes our clothing can get tattered and beyond repair and needs to be cast away into the garbage. Then, when you wake up the next morning, you will put on a brand new t-shirt and pants! But this is exactly what we need to do in the Christian Life. Through the grace of God, we need to rid ourselves of the old person that we used to be in our past, by casting Him and all of his corrupt works into the trash. Then through the knowledge of the teachings of our faith, we must put on Christ Jesus, by wearing the works of the Holy Spirit like a garment in our daily lives. To shine like a light, you must rid yourself of darkness, by putting off the old man and his deeds; and just like recharging a dead battery, we must renew our minds, with the power of the Everlasting Word of God.
