Good morning and welcome in everybody. Today, we are going to take a look at a large passage of scripture from the book of 1st Corinthians.
1 Corinthians 7:1-2 (KJB) Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
If a man cannot control himself and he is going to be sleeping around with other women, then he needs to get married and settle down. The same is also true for a woman. Fornication is not supposed to be named once among those who claim to be a Christian, and it is defined in numerous places as having physical sexual relationships with those whom you are not married to. Some men can go their entire lives without being married, but not everybody can do that. If sexual desires cause you to commit fornication with others, then you had better find a spouse.
1 Corinthians 7:3-5 (KJB) Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
Benevolence is defined as a good thing, or a specific act of charity and kindness towards somebody else. God is good, and sexuality was created by Him. It is a Divine gift, and Holy when it is used in the proper manner. Fornication, homosexuality, and all other types of lasciviousness are outside of the teachings of our faith. Lasciviousness is defined as the immoral and evil use of sexuality. Sexuality is a desire that comes from within our flesh, and some people have a greater desire for it than others, but as a married couple, you must fulfill the sexual needs of your spouse. It is not only an act of charity towards them, but it will also relieve them of any burning desire that they may have in their flesh. This is one of the reasons why it is so sinful to depart your spouse, because you are depriving them of what rightfully belongs to them, your body. When you defraud them of sexual relationships, it is a sin, and it can also cause your spouse to become tempted to fulfill that need with some other person rather than remaining faithfully in the bond of marriage. So adultery can happen in a marriage, not because of someone’s desire for infidelity, but because their spouse became a stumbling block by defrauded them of their sexual needs.
In a marriage there is love, and friendship but there is also sexuality, and some marriages are going to have a great deal of it. The sexual drive in and of itself is not a sin, but many people feel like it’s taboo to actually enjoy it in the Christian Life, which is absurd. You also must understand that when you desire to be gratified sexually by your spouse, it is technically lusting after them in a sexual way, but there are good desires and there are bad ones all throughout this life. For example, the guitar can be used to play glorious music unto the Lord, but it can also be used to play evil music in order to become riotous with the wicked. Even a computer can be used for a good reason, but many people can use it for evil too. It is not a sin to greatly desire your spouse in a sexual manner, but you should never lust after things that are evil, such as wanting to fornicate with some person outside of marriage, or lusting after your neighbor’s wife. But within the Covenant of marriage, the husband can desire his bride sexually all that he wants, and vice versa.
Sex is a gift from God, but it must not lead one to commit fornication or adultery with others. The fulfillment of the sexual requirements of your spouse is so important to God, that He requires you to break a fast in order to do it. God does not want us to be tempted in such a manner, which is why it is the requirement of a spouse to provide for their sexual needs. If you cannot do that, you are sinning against the commands of Christ. In certain people, sexuality can be an extremely strong desire, but you want to make sure that you have your Spiritual priorities in line. Even in the case of Solomon, he loved his wives a little bit too much, and it caused Him to burn incense to false gods. But forbidding marriage is a sin in the church, and the Catholics have been doing it for hundreds of years to their clergy. This is one of a plethora of heretical false teachings that have been instituted by them, and because of it, God has punished them with fornication, and all kinds of lawsuits, which could have been prevented by allowing people to marry if they had the need to do so. It is certainly a better life to be a bachelor, if you can manage that lifestyle, but it is certainly not forbidden to be married. Catholics murdered so many people because they claimed that they were heretics, but they should take a look in the mirror, because the punishments of God are upon them all.
1 Corinthians 7:6-9 (KJB) But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment. For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that. I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I. But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.
Before we go for today, I want you to think about something. There are many married couples in the world today who really believe that their spouse doesn’t love them, simply because they don’t walk into the house and immediately give them a kiss, or seek them in a sexual manner all of the time. But communication is extremely important in a marriage, and if you have a sexual desire, it is your responsibility to communicate that physical need to your spouse. A spouse cannot fulfill your needs if you never bother to tell them what you want. There is a learning curve to pleasing one another sexually in a marriage, but you must tell each other what you need in order for both of you to feel loved, cared for, and satisfied. I’ve known a few married couples who have been able to live apart for 6 months, but they have worked it out with each other and they are very happy. I have also known other couples who need to see each other every single day. However you live together as a married couple, just remember to communicate, communicate, and communicate, so you can have your own needs fulfilled, and your spouse can graciously supply for your requirements. These are just a few of my thoughts today, about,.
