Thoughts of the Day 8/22/26 am
Matthew 3:7-8 (KJB) But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
John the Baptist was baptizing people out in the Jordan River, but many of them who showed up were the religious leaders of his day, who he strongly rebuked. A lot of people don’t think about it, but the truth is that there will be baptized people who are not going to get into the kingdom of heaven. The reason why is because they never truly repented of their sins in their heart. Some people will even partake of Holy Communion but drink it unto damnation because it was only a religious activity unto them, rather than one of contrition, and having a sincere desire to turn away from sin. Many people are going to claim that they know Jesus at the judgment, but will eventually hear the words, depart from me you who work iniquity. Religion doesn’t save anyone, repentance does, and our lives must manifest a complete transformation from the works of darkness, to the works of the light.

Thoughts of the Day 8/22/26 pm
Matthew 6:31-33 (KJB) Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Many people are focused on the temporal concerns of this world, and one of the very first things that they will do is get ready for work, and then run off to their Earthly jobs. God is not even in their thoughts, because it is focused on everything else in this world. They will fill up a to-do list with all kinds of worldly activities, whether it’s seeking after a bigger income, obtaining more food at the grocery store, or some other type of activity that is important to them. But this is one of the main reasons why people don’t have a close relationship with God. Everything else becomes first in their life, and having a seeking heart for our precious Lord is put on the back burner all day long. They might pray for five minutes before they go to sleep, but anyone who has common sense knows that’s not a relationship with anybody. That is called religion, performed by those who think that they are on their way to heaven, but are only deceiving their own hearts. If the Lord was the most important thing in your life, He would be the first one that you seek after when you wake up. Sincere faith will seek after the things of the kingdom of God, and a tender-hearted relationship with our precious Lord Jesus.
