Thoughts of the Day 8/25/26

Thoughts of the Day 8/25/26 am

1 John 4:9-10 (KJB) In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

A propitiation is defined as a sacrifice unto God that turns away His anger in order to grant forgiveness unto sinners. Jesus has always lived a perfect life before God, and because of what He did at the cross, He makes a perfect atonement for the sins of men. The wages of sin is death, but through the sacrifice of Himself, we have a brand new opportunity to become transformed into a new creature in Christ Jesus. It’s not that we loved God but that He first loved us, and sent Jesus to reconcile the world unto Himself. God grants us an incredible gift of His grace, so that we can depart from iniquity, in order to walk in the light. God wants us to become like His Son, but that will require mortifying all of the sinful works of the flesh, and becoming the humble and obedient children of God.

Thoughts of the Day 8/25/26 pm

Psalms 85:7-8 (KJB) Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation. I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.

The Apostle Paul wrote the church and explained to them,..shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid! God is very merciful by extending to us a portion of Grace, but it is not given to us for the purpose of continuing to sin, but rather to transform from what we once were, into an obedient child of God. We are supposed to go and sin no more, rejecting the old way that we used to live, in order to follow the way of Christ Jesus. But we are warned throughout the scriptures that we are not supposed to return to the folly of our own sinful living, but to use the grace of God to repent from dead works. We must go unto perfection, and continually mature in the teachings of our faith, so that we can overcome all of the things of this world, and eventually reap the reward of eternal life!
