Thoughts of the Day 9/4/26 am

1 Timothy 4:3-5 (KJB) Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

Some people are vegetarians, and although that might be their choice lifestyle, sometimes they will command others to completely abstain from meat. But the Lord has given us meats to freely enjoy, and many times He would sit down to meat with others, and even ate fish which I think is a fine meal. Certain things were not allowed in the Old Testament law, but when Jesus died and rose from the grave, He delivered us from all of those regulations. After all, every creature of God is good, so be thankful and enjoy the bounty of what He has provided!

Thoughts of the Day 9/4/26 pm

1 Timothy 5:1 (KJB) Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;

An elder is a man in the church who is involved with preaching God’s Holy Word and helping others to grow in their faith. To rebuke means to express a very sharp and stern criticism about somebody else’s behaviors and actions. It’s disorderly to rebuke an elder, because more than likely they were in the faith before you were. Rather than reprimanding them, you want to take more of a gentle approach with him instead. This is done by intreating him, which is done by asking or begging them in an earnest, sincere, and serious manner.
